Born from a Passion for the Backcountry

We’re Chanrith and Jessica—lifelong Washingtonians, outdoor enthusiasts, and the founders of Seattle Overland.

In 2017, we built a thriving car rental business right here in Seattle. The fleet grew, bookings rolled in, and everything was on track. Then, 2020 hit like a wrecking ball. The pandemic wiped out travel overnight. Our once-busy rental lot became a graveyard of idle cars. We held on as long as we could, but eventually, we had no choice—we shut down and sold off the fleet.

Well, almost all of it.

The Pivot: From Premium Fleet to Rugged Escape

We held onto two Jeeps. Instead of selling them, we had an idea: What if we turned one into the rugged, self-contained overland camper we had always dreamed of?

We kitted it out with a premium hardshell rooftop tent, a heavy-duty awning, and all the high-end gear needed for a true off-grid adventure. We listed it on Outdoorsy just to see what would happen.

The response was instant.

We quickly realized people weren’t just looking for transportation—they wanted an escape. They craved the open roads, nights under the stars, and the wild, remote beauty of the Pacific Northwest. One Jeep became two. Two became four. By 2022, Seattle Overland was officially born.

The Seattle Overland Standard

We don't just rent 4x4s; we engineer self-contained basecamps. As locals, we personally test our equipment on the exact terrain you're heading toward—from the washboard forest service roads of the Cascades to the wet, deep canopies of the Olympic Peninsula. If we wouldn't trust a rig to take our own family into the backcountry, it doesn't leave our lot.

Our Mission, Forged by Experience

Our journey didn't just give us a new business; it gave us a clear mission: To transform your adventurous spirit into an unforgettable expedition.

Our fully equipped 4x4 Jeep campers are meticulously designed to handle demanding dirt roads, washed-out trailheads, and remote backcountry trails with absolute confidence. We handle all the premium logistics and heavy-duty gear—all you need to bring is your food, drinks, and a sense of adventure.

We built this fleet for you. Ready to start your adventure?
